Some magic club evenings offer you tricks and ideas, some offer you more of a lecture on theory and advice and some display peformance pieces and are pure entertainment. Dr Todd's evening provided all three! Todd is a deep magical thinker and you cannot help but be swept along by his engaging style, ideas and natural, confident performance. He is the co-founder of Psycrets: The British Society of Mystery Entertainers as well as a member of The Magic Circle, the IBM and the Ipswich Magical Society. His name will be familiar to many through his ideas and effects in Peter Duffie's 'MINDBLASTERS' books and his amazing ink blot cards, Philosopher's book test and other strong, practical working material.
To list what he did would not do the effects justice. Suffice it to say that anyone looking for a varied, original and thought-provoking evening for their society should not look any further. This was a highly entertaining evening which was enjoyed by all members and from which everyone could learn.

‘Well what a fabulous show .....for those who saw parts of it at The Shop in Birmingham know what type of show it was, but much , much bigger. For those that didn’t Dr Todd presents himself as The Metaphysical Magician, a premise of blending science and the esoteric to create what might be magic, or something a bit more unexplained .
The show has sold out, the stage set looked just like the opening act from a Sherlock Holmes play .. lots of .. (Well, you just have to watch the DVD when it comes out to see ....)
The whole thing just reeked of class ... I don’t want to spoil it for those who will see it at some point, but following themes of synchronicity, state of nature and Magie, Musique et Mystique. The show had thirteen different pieces which ranged from a highly visual crystal routine to more subliminal thought projections. Some effects were short, punchy and to the point, as well as others like Le Bateleur which is slightly more lengthy with a gripping story weaving through the routine’.
